About Microsoft Innovation Alliance Center:

Microsoft Innovation Centers (MICs) are state-of- the art technology facilities for collaboration on innovative research, technology or software solutions, involving a combination of government, academic and industry participants.

To foster innovation and the development of strong, self-sustaining local software industries, Microsoft is partnering with local governments, academic institutions, industry organizations and software and hardware vendors to expand its network of Microsoft Innovation Centers (MIC). Today these centers serve 110 communities worldwide.

Microsoft and partners in each community work together to operate the MICs, which are open to students, professional software developers, IT professionals, entrepreneurs and academic researchers. While each Center tunes its programs to local needs, they all provide similar content and services designed to accelerate technology advances and stimulate local software economies through skills and professional training, industry partnerships and innovation.

There are now more than 100 Innovation Centers World Wide.

What is Ideation Fest?

All of us have innovative thoughts generated through our daily experiences, problems and imagination. If you have any such idea and have firm determination to accomplish your dreams, this is the place for you to be in. Microsoft Innovation Alliance supports you and provides you with platform to excel and chase down what all say IMPOSSIBLE.

Friends, if you have such idea which not only is innovative but if it also covers following prerequisites then you are the right person to be at CGC, Landran for this fest:

1.     Environment friendly

2.     Economical

3.     Versatile.

How to participate:

As the knowledge and innovation become the primary catalysts for economic growth, the Microsoft Innovation Alliance Center can play a vital role in generating powerful new ideas through training education and knowledge transfer.

So, what are you waiting for? If you have the right zeal to excel and dreams to reach millions through your innovative ideas, do shoot a brief synopsis about your idea, its practicability and sustainability at cgcm.mia.ideationfest@gmail.com  or at cecm.cse.amits@gmail.com . The Ideas can be submitted on-line also by visiting our website http://www.cgc.edu.in/. The last date for submitting your ideas with all necessary details is 20th January, 2011.

The areas of giving ideas are as open as this world itself. So, Students from all disciplines/streams can participate in this fest. However, it is desirable that innovative ideas are based on Microsoft Technologies/Platforms especially on Windows Phone7 and Cloud Computing Environment.

Shortlisted innovators will be intimated by 25th January, 2011.

Rewards/ Prizes:

If you are really innovative, have that attitude to spark, CGC is there to acknowledge your achievements. Your Ideas/ Projects will be evaluated by a Steering Committee comprising of members from Government sector, academia, industry and Microsoft nominees and based on their recommendations, following categories of prizes will be awarded:

1.     Idea innovative enough to be implemented on Microsoft Platform/environment- One Laptop each

2.     Ideas with 100% implementation  in all aspects:

a.     First Prize: Rs. 20000/-

b.     Second Prize: Rs. 15000/-

c.      Third Prize: Rs. 10000/-

3.     Ideas partially implemented/conceptualized, with crystal clear idea about the concept and implementation:

a.     First Prize: Rs. 10000/-

b.     Second Prize: Rs. 7500/-

c.      Third Prize: Rs.5000/-

In addition to these prizes, Special consolation prizes like mobile phones and I-POD/ MP3 players etc. will be awarded to all the participants, whose ideas the Steering Committee finds innovative enough but not awarded in above three categories.

 

The decision of the steering committee will be final in all respects.
